Why collectors use a Pelican 1450

The 1450 is a popular size for carrying graded cards to shows, trades and grading drop-offs: big enough for a serious stack of slabs, small enough to carry. The weak point is the foam. Pick-and-pluck cubes do not hold slabs square and the slabs rub against each other.

A custom trading card foam insert gives every slab its own slot, sized to the slab type you actually own – graded slabs from different companies are not all the same thickness.

  • Upright slot rows – the highest count, easy to flip through
  • Flat display pockets – your best cards face-up when the lid opens
  • Mixed layouts – slots plus pockets for toploaders, one-touch holders or a card counter

Capacity depends on slab type and layout – we give you the count and price before anything is cut.

Trading Card Foam Insert for Pelican 1450 FAQ

How many graded slabs fit in a Pelican 1450?

It depends on the grading companies and whether the slabs stand upright or lie flat. Tell us your mix and we will give you the exact count and price before anything is cut.

Can one insert hold slabs from different grading companies?

Yes. Slabs from different companies differ in size, so we can cut separate rows for each type in one insert.

What are the inside dimensions of a Pelican 1450?

The Pelican 1450 interior is listed at 14.66" x 10.24" x 6.12".

Do you sell a plain foam insert for the Pelican 1450?

Yes. The 15" x 10.5" uncut XLPE foam pad fits the Pelican 1450 and comes in 1" and 2" layers if you want to cut card slots yourself.

Can you cut a trading card insert for a different case?

Yes. Send the case model or its interior size and we will lay out the slots for that case instead.
