The Pelican 1650 is the big wheeled transport case: broken-down rifles, video rigs, PA gear and instrument sets. We CNC-cut a Pelican 1650 custom foam insert to the 28.57" x 17.52" x 10.65" interior, as one deep layer or two lift-out trays.
Pelican 1650 foam insert, cut to your gear
At 28.57" long the 1650 takes a 16" barrel upper and a lower side by side, each in its own pocket. Routed closed-cell foam holds the weight without the pockets spreading.

Pelican lists the 1650 Protector interior at 28.57" x 17.52" x 10.65", split as a 1.81" lid and an 8.84" base. The base takes a 1" bottom pad plus two 3.5" to 4" layers.

Do you make custom foam for the Pelican 1650?

Will an AR-15 fit in a Pelican 1650?
Yes, separated. A 16" barrel upper is about 24" to 26" long and fits the 28.57" floor with the lower beside it. An assembled rifle needs the Pelican 1700 or 1750.
Can you cut two trays for the 1650?
Yes. Both layers are cut to the same outline so the upper tray lifts out and the lower layer stays in the case.
